Don’t leave your cellphone lying around — a new study shows that most people have no problem snooping through it.
Scary stuff, peeps. Let me offer some tips:
- Banks have mobile websites. Use them instead of an app. Yes, it’s less polished and convenient. But would you rather get robbed?
- Use a lock screen. Patterns, pins, and passwords all have their strengths and weaknesses, but use them. If you’re phone doesn’t have a lock screen, well, get an Android device. ; )
- Make sure you can locate your lost phone online and, if necessary, remotely wipe everything off of it. I know Apple offers this, and there are some great services/apps for Android. I use SeekDroid, but there are others.

Or, don’t leave stupid incriminating crap on your phone. Maybe I’m just super paranoid, but I make a point to never ever put anything on my phone that I would be afraid of someone seeing. You just never know.
